One at the finish line with a time limit of 26 hours from the race start.
The time limits apply equally to all athlete categories and to both races (Evia Ultra Trail and Evia Relay Trail), regardless of gender or age. Athletes who withdraw for personal reasons or arrive at the Kymi aid station after the cutoff time must stop and hand in their race number to the station official.
Transportation to the finish area will be provided by the organizers for athletes who withdraw or are disqualified, using official vehicles from the race stations.
In all other cases, the organization is not responsible for the road or other transportation of athletes who withdraw, although they will try to assist without any formal obligation.

2 | Steni (Finish) | 26 hours |
12. DROP BAG
Upon registration, you will receive a 30-liter plastic bag (drop bag) labeled with your race number. You may place items inside for pickup or exchange at the central aid station in Kymi. Transportation of the drop bags to and from the station will be handled by the organizers.
Returned items will be brought back to Steni and placed in a designated area for collection.
13. Athlete Transportation
The organizers will provide transportation for the second athlete of each relay team from Steni to Kymi, as well as for the first athlete from Kymi to Steni.
Additionally, transportation will be provided for athletes who have withdrawn or been disqualified and need to return to Steni.
For more details, please refer to Rule No. 11.
14. Course Marking
The trail will be densely marked. The designated markers include caution tape (yellow and black) and mountaineering paint signs, clearly indicating the correct path for the athletes. The course markings are temporary and placed by the organizers solely for the convenience of participants. They will be removed after the race. These markings include kilometer signs, directional indicators, and warning markers to prevent athletes from taking the wrong path. At key points along the route—where signage might be insufficient—volunteers will be stationed to guide the athletes.
15. Medical Examination
Athletes are required to have undergone a medical examination by a physician who has deemed them fit to participate in the specific race.
Three days before the race, participants will receive a health questionnaire via email, which they must complete online. Alternatively, they may present the necessary medical certificates at the race office when collecting their timing package.
16. Race BiB Number
Each athlete must wear their race number (bib) on their body, clearly visible on the front of their shirt. The bib must remain intact throughout the entire race and must not be folded in a way that conceals any part of the printed information (sponsors, logos, etc.). Any significant alteration of the bib that could cause confusion for checkpoint officials may result in disqualification. Loss of the race number also results in disqualification.
17. Auxiliary Equipment
The use of trekking poles is allowed. Athletes are also permitted to carry and use a map, compass, GPS device, mobile phone, or radio (VHF).
16. Waste Disposal
The race takes place in a mountainous area, which is a sensitive ecosystem. Therefore, it is strictly forbidden to discard any items along the route, such as plastic bottles or any solid or liquid food packaging used during the race. Every aid station will have designated trash bags. All athletes are required to dispose of their waste in these bags. Respect the mountain—carry your trash with you and do not litter along the trail. Any athlete caught littering will be permanently banned from the event.
18. Movement on the Trail
Athletes must move along the trail in a single file and avoid forming groups that stretch across the path and block others wishing to pass. When an athlete is alerted that someone wants to overtake, they must yield by staying on the uphill (inner) side of the slope
19. Aid Stations
The organizing committee is responsible for providing nutrition and hydration to athletes during the race.
20. Single Use-Cups
No cups will be provided at the aid stations. Athletes must ensure they carry their own cups.
21. Mandatory Gear & backpacks
Weather conditions in the mountains are unpredictable, and sunshine can quickly give way to heavy rain.
The following mandatory gear is required for all participants:
Required Equipment |
---|
Emergency blanket |
Head torch with spare batteries |
Mini first aid kit |
Whistle |
Long-sleeve thermal shirt |
Waterproof windbreaker with hood |
Mobile phone |
Waterproof pants |
Collapsible cup / Liquid cup |
SmartWatch with the race route preloaded in GPX format |
It is also recommended that athletes in all races carry a small backpack or waist pack with basic essentials, such as:
- Sunglasses
- Hat
- Soft flask or wide-mouth water bottle
- Solid food of their choice
Athletes are responsible for carrying one or two containers to separately hold water and isotonic drink.
If an athlete wishes to drop off a pack at key aid stations, they may do so at their own responsibility.
Random gear checks will be conducted before the start and at various checkpoints during the race to verify that all mandatory equipment is being carried.
Failure to carry the required gear may result in a time penalty or disqualification from the race.
22. Mandatory Gear Check
A random gear check will be conducted on a sample of athletes at one aid station, which will remain undisclosed for ethical reasons.
Any athlete found without the mandatory equipment will be automatically disqualified from the race and must immediately surrender their bib number.
23. ORGANIZATION’S EMERGENCY PHONE NUMBER
The race organization’s phone line will be available for athletes experiencing any type of issue during the race.
This phone line is strictly for emergency use, and family or friends of participants are kindly asked not to call for updates about their loved ones.
24. PACERS
- Runners are allowed to be accompanied by one pacer, starting from the Vítalo aid station at 73.6 km until the finish line in Steni at 108.5 km (totaling 35.2 km / +1332m elevation). All pacers must wait for their runner within the boundaries of the Vítalo aid station.
- Changing pacers is not allowed.
- Pacers must be at least 18 years old.
- Pacers must enter and exit each aid station together with their runner, and must clearly identify themselves to aid station personnel. Pacers are permitted to receive aid at these stations.
- Pacers may assist their runner with refilling water bottles or restocking supplies at aid stations, but they may not enter the aid station before the runner or leave after them to speed up refueling.
- Pacers may not carry water, food, headlamps, shoes, clothing, or any other supplies for the runner, nor may they provide any kind of mechanical or physical assistance during the race. Muling is strictly prohibited. Pacers may carry their own supplies and food.
- If a runner withdraws from the race, their pacer must also stop. Pacers are not allowed to continue on the trail without the officially registered runner.
25. Use of Poles
Use of poles is allowed from the start of the race. As they are not mandatory equipment, there is no requirement for athletes to carry them continuously; they may leave them somewhere and pick them up again elsewhere.
26. Checkpoints
The race checkpoints are located at aid stations as well as at selected points where there will be an electronic timing mat that athletes are required to pass over. Athletes must have their race number clearly visible so that the officials can record them. If an athlete is wearing a windbreaker jacket, they must make sure to show their race number upon reaching the checkpoint. Refusal to show the number will result in disqualification. Any athlete who misses even one checkpoint is considered invalid (disqualified).
27. Protests
Protests for any reason can only be made by the athlete themselves, no later than 1 hour after their finish time.
28. Race Interruption
The race can be stopped only in the event of extreme weather conditions (severe and long-lasting storms). If this happens during the race, the organizers will take all necessary measures to inform the participants by any means possible. Afterwards, the participants will be transported to the race start/finish area.
29. Safety
Athletes participate at their own risk, and the organizing committee is not responsible for any injuries, as explicitly stated in the liability waiver. However, there will be a Volunteer Rescue Team covering the race. Additionally, specialized medical personnel and fully equipped ambulances will be on standby at selected strategic points.
The Committee undertakes to supervise the race route with specialized staff in safety, rescue, and medical assistance for athletes in need. In cases where safety personnel or officials instruct athletes to change their route for safety reasons, athletes are obligated to comply. Failure to comply will result in disqualification.
30. ROUTE MODIFICATION / POSTPONEMENT / CANCELLATION OF THE RACE
If necessary (due to extremely dangerous weather conditions), the Organizers reserve the right to modify the route or to postpone the start of the race for a short time in order to avoid risking the physical safety of the athletes.
If the race cannot be held on the scheduled date for any reason, a new date will be announced. All payments will remain valid for the new date. If someone does not wish to participate on the new date, they can request a refund. The refund will be given minus a €2 fee withheld by the bank as administrative costs.
31. Timing – Results
Timing will be done digitally with a chip attached to the running shoe. Results will be displayed in real-time and posted immediately after the race. Each athlete will receive a message with their personal finish time right after crossing the finish line. A live streaming service will be available during the finish.
The official results will be published after verification by the organizing committee in the days following the race. The final race ranking is the one provided by the timing company and is indisputable. Under no circumstances or for any reason will duplicate medals be awarded to athletes who finish simultaneously.
32. Penalties
The sole penalty imposed for all infractions and rule violations is disqualification/removal from the race.
It applies to:
1. Pollution of the route,
2. Cutting the course,
3. Failure to carry the mandatory equipment.
33. Waiver of Liability
The organizers are not responsible for death, injury, or any health damage to the participants, who by submitting their entry application acknowledge the risks present in the mountainous environment and certify that their health condition is good and allows them to compete, having been recently examined by a doctor for this purpose. However, no athlete will be required to submit a medical certificate. Participants themselves are obliged to regularly undergo medical preventive checks to monitor their health condition.
The organizers disclaim any responsibility for the physical integrity of the athletes, who must behave responsibly in sections of the course where the risk of falling with unpleasant or fatal consequences is increased. The organizers disclaim any financial responsibility in case of external assistance to any athlete.
34. Injury Transportation
In case of injuries, transport to Steni or to a hospital is carried out by the designated authorities, but always at the injured party’s own financial expense. The event organizers do not constitute a government service and are not liable for costs that are not their responsibility
35. Copyrights
The Organizers and their partners retain the copyrights for photography and filming of the race by authorized teams assigned to this task. Every athlete whose application is accepted automatically agrees to this term, acknowledging that their image may appear in photos or videos without prior permission and without the right to claim any compensation for the publication of such material.
36. Personal Data
The Organizers will not disclose athletes’ personal data submitted during registration to third parties. Respecting applicable laws and considering the confidentiality of such data a strict ethical obligation, they keep athletes’ information confidential and stored securely in a digital environment. Only the athlete’s full name, city of residence, and age will be published. Other information such as photos, personal websites, or athletic biographies will be published only if provided by the athlete.
37. Regulation Changes
The organizers reserve the right to modify the race regulations without prior notice.
